After we went to the park today and got back to the hotel, Veronica told us that a lady that does calligraphy was going to be on our floor at 3:00 PM and that she would write our child's Chinese name, a wish for her from us and her SWI and province. Calligraphy is a fine art in China. She said that she started calligraphy when she was 3 years old and at 14 she won 1st price for her calligraphy in the whole region. Her calligraphy was beautiful. She wrote it on rice paper with a silk paper background on a scroll. We are planning on hanging it in Celia's room. We were so excited to get it. She also let us try writing some calligraphy. Here are some pictures of our experience. It is true about 'teaching an old dog new tricks', it can't be done. Greg messed up the first one he tried and Veronica and the lady said at the same tme 'NO', when he did it. It is on video.
